A Vacation A Year, Keeps The Sanity Near

We try to take at least one vacation a year...often we get 2 in. In Feb we drove (3 days) to Az and spent 3 days there and drove 3 days back. We also, for whatever reason, took our 4 month old puppy with us. What an adventure. After 12 hrs of driving , we landed in Dallas, Tx at the Hard Rock cafe for dinner. We were lucky enough to find a parking space right outside the cafe in front of windows so we could watch over our Ellie! I was a mess...all I wanted was a strong drink. Never again will we drive....never!
We have a passion for the Hard Rock cafes. If we visit a city or Island that has one we have to look it up!! We also visited the Albuequerque Hard Rock Hotel, which is awesome. We always have to buy an article of clothing and a hurricane glass. I recently have begun saving their hard rock pins, also. Since we had our puppy in the car we couldn't spend a lot of time inside on this trip, but we were at least able to purchase a few fun things. I am hoping to find what I did with my pictures and post a few of those!

Then last month we took an Alaskan Cruise, visiting Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria, Canada. We left From and ended up in Seattle, where we spent a couple days sight seeing! We went whale watching in Juneau and even tho it was pouring rain, we got our money's worth! It was all good but colder than I like!! I really enjoyed Victoria and Seattle. We had beautiful weather while we were there. Pictures to come :-)

well, its been a long time. Everytime I look through the blogs I wonder why I don't write in mine regularly.

My life is pretty uneventful. I got a new puppy in December and I love that little thing :-) She has been keeping me busy. Her name is Ellie and she is a yorkie. She follows me everywhere I go...needless to say, I don't get much done around here. As long as I sit...she sits... :-) Here are a few pics that show how much she's grown in such a short time.

The Absent Blogger

It's been quite awhile since blogging...I don't know why but, I manage to totally forget about my blog for months at a time.
When I open my blog...(after hours of trying to remember passwords and blog address) I always remember how soothing it is too keep track of life via the blog (or diary).
This summer was actually quite uneventful. I have spent a lot of this year with upper respiratory infections. I don't know why, but I can't seem to stay healthy.
We are going to have a new addition to our family in December...I'll be posting picture of our new puppy, Ellie as soon as I can.

The cold weather has set in and we are supposed to have some snow next week. I absolutely hate cold weather and really would move to Arizona in a heart beat! And besides that, this is really not the prime time of year to house train a puppy. Wish me luck.

Hey everyone...
I wish I'd get back to writing everyday again...instead of every decade :-)
I have really had some health problems pop up and have a long road a head of me to get the Drs to figure out what is happening to me.
In the meantime, I spend my days playing stupid games on Facebook, as well as chatting with friends from there. If you want to be my friend....look me up.. Lana Jurgens.

Anyway..I always enjoy the blog part of this because I feel somewhat cleansed after writing. It's sort of like talking to a friend. Ya know? Everytime I blog, I always wonder why I don't do it regularly.
It's unreal that it's been so long since I played on the blogs. I kind of liked those little blog games....and there were a couple especially, that I thought were so much fun. I'll have to look a few of those up.

Once I got involved in Facebook and the games they offer, it really took up all my spare time. I play Farmville, Social City, Cafe World and My Town. I also have another 5 or 6 that I mess with now and then...but these 4 are my favs. But, it's too much to handle that many all at once, so I switch back and forth between them. It's amazing how I can be anywhere and start talking about Facebook to someone and they ask what games I play...they know all about the games... I usually hear something like...oh everyone plays Farmville. Sometimes, I wonder if I didn't get enough playtime in when I was a kid. :-) But, I am definitely making up for it. :-) I didn't get near the painting done this last year as I had hoped.

I have a few craft projects started and I really am determined to get them painted before summer is over. I am working on a large tin watering can. I plan to paint a watermelon and other fruit onto the watering can one I get my background painted to my liking.. I hated the the school bus like yellow that I chose for the background so sponged on a lighter cream color over it. So we'll see. I may change my mind about what to paint over the background. I toyed with flowers instead of the fruit. Nothing comes easy for me.

Revisiting old friends

I haven't been here for ages... It has been so long...that I forgot how to find it. It took a while.but finally I figured it out!

I began just looking at blogs today. Something I haven't done for so long! I found a great blog with some great photos of Az.. My favorite place. I'd love to move there. It's my dream! Hopefully, one of these days....it'll happen.

We have had a particularly nasty winter this year. Lots of snow and it's been soooooooo cold!

We took a trip to Jamaica last month...it was a nice break! We left there about one hour before the earthquake hit Haiti. I have heard that it was gently felt in Jamaica, but I don't know if that is true.

I hope this finds everyone well. I need to visit more often....I forgot how much I enjoyed blogging!

Hello everyone.. I am just checking in to say Hi! I hope all is well with all of you.
I have started to organize my craft room and get the projects that I hope to get done all in order.
I had such a mess down there. I have a few finishing touches on a couple projects and then hope to forge ahead with new projects!

I have been playing way too much of farmtown...does anyone here play? how crazy it is too get so involved in a game on the computer. Between that and blogging, I normally struggled to get things done around here and stay on track. Now with crafts that I am trying to tackle I feel like I have NO time at all to do other things.

On top of that I have decided to take a couple courses on Jewery making at our community college. And if possible some guitar lessons :-)

I'll check in later.... until then...

Some art projects I have done and need to finish!

I am posting some of my creative genius for Stef to see...HA!!!!
I have a few projects but just didn't finish a LOT of things...I need to get back down to the "room" to get more projects done so that means...less puter time...OH whoa is me.

Ok these are a few of the projects and just play that I have done the last yr or 2
The first one is watercolor play...I have never water colored so took a quick class and am not sure I could ever be good at it...its so much harder than I thought it would be!

This is using all acrylic...it's hard too, because it dries so fast. I have some shadowing and some finishing that needs to be done

this is also acrylic.. a little figurine like the snowman and then just layer on the colors. This also has shadowing, highlighting , as well as her face, and detail on her pumpkin etc, to be finished yet!

and of course he needs some detail work to be finished.

these were 2006 Christmas projects leftovers...I sent some out to Mikes nieces.

Last Thanksgiving I did this for me...it took me forever! I am so too picky. It is an all wood tray. I actually FINISHED this! I do like it!

I did this for my Den... I wasn't totally happy with it, but went ahead and framed it. Some day I will re do it and swap the painting out.

this is a paint brush box...I kind of chopped it off when I took the pic...hopefully you get the idea... this is the Donna Dewberry One Stroke method which I do not recommend....it screwed me up on doing my regular brush stroking for awhile . NOT a favorite project of mine, by any means!

I have lots others to be started...and as you can see I have to finish a lot of things! I just need to go down there and get busy! maybe I should move my computer down there???? :-)

are you one that kept track of Matt and his dancing around the world??( where the hell is Matt?) I think it's so cute and funny. I don't know if he still does this or not...but it was big around the world for quite awhile... I think it was the natives of the land, rather than him dancing at times. And other times it'd him dancing alone or with the native people. But, he must have a lot of cash to travel all over just to make videos that are posted on You Tube.
Anyway, I hope you get a smile from this!

Ok..so I like to change my blog now and then...it's not just because it is a blog....it's because it just IS. I used to do it to my hair a lot...but finally after many disasters I have found other things to massacre.
So, I decide to change the blog and I first tried just a background like this...but stupidly I saved it without backing up my original. Then I decided I wanted something more than just a background so, figured I would go to where I got the purple flowered blog that I deleted. I found another template that I fell in love with (sort of) so I tried it and previewed it before I saved it. (using my head this time) Well, to my horror I saw that everything on my side bar would be gone if I saved the layout.
Ok, so since I know that I can do just a background with out losing my sidebar, I decided I'd better find something I like in backgrounds. So, back to the cutest blog I went. Hence, the change of the look of this blog.
First of all, I have 3 blogs and I don't even know why. Ok, well, I have one to answer my memes and I have one where you go to MCQ on mondays. Right? you do go there right?
so this 3rd one is sort of just for the leftovers I guess. You never know when I will have something very important to tell ya. Like I am doing now!! :-)
So after adopting this new blog look I had to make some odds and ends to go on my side bar and I had to change the text colors and etc. I have spent pretty much the whole day on this dang thing!
So now....was it worth it?

It's been hard for me to get back into gear since being sick.. I just don't have any ambition. I just did one meme this week. Couldn't motivate myself to do more. I hope this improves soon!!!!!!!!!!

Well this is pretty simple for me since my other half has his own remodeling company. Just about anyplace you look around here you'll find a "tool". This is a table saw...well to me its something that splits wood in two. LOL and it, along with his shop of the other hundred tools, pays the bills around here..and that's all I know :-)

2. do you shop on line...Home goods or personal items? Can you tell us what personal items you look for?? I do shop on line a LOT! Both personal and home goods! I do lands end, famous footwear, Jc Pennney, shoes.com and many more. I would rather do that than run all over the place anytime! Especially when I am getting ready to take a vacation!. Nothing juicy tho...no no thong underwear or whips and chains.

8. what is your most favorite thing to do to relax when you are not working? I take breaks all day long at the computer to check on all the blogs :-) Sometimes that isn't that relaxing though :-)

3. Have you ever picked up the phone and called someone that you hadn't talked to in years? Yes I have.....His wife wasn't too happy about it...but he was pretty elated.

4. Whats on your computer desktop background? A picture of a sunset with a cruiseship in the distance...I took it on our last cruise..last month

5. What was the very first movie you saw in a movie theater? Like I would really remember that??? I was probably 4 or something.... I do rememeber a man trying to kidnap my older sister and I when we were walking home from the movie theater and I was 5.

6. If you had to take a 10th grade science test, do you think you would pass?... Probably not...however I was pretty good at science...not biology or chemistry...but science was ok!

7. Describe heaven.
Palm trees, beach, ocean, .. I was there in May!

8. Has a place that you lived ever been infested with some sort of insect or rodent? We have had an ant problem that is unreal... I was ready to move!!! they invaded my den....but I think we finally got it under control! (it's been a problem in our town actually...it was on the news) It Weirds me out!! UGH

9. When you were a youngin', did you hide in the clothes racks at department stores?
NO I don't believe I did...BUT my son did! He still does I think..:-) I don't know I don't see him too often.

10. Is there anything in your vehicle that is broken? No

11. What is something in your house that people would be surprise to find? The 15 dust mops , brooms and scrub mops, and a floor steamer that I keep in the closet . (no matter how many cleaning tools you have, they still don't do the work for you...ticks me off!)

12. Do you agree with the death penalty? Yup if someone does something that bad...they deserve it back to them!

13. Whats your favorite type of bear? One that is a long ways from me ...maybe on a chain or something.

14. Where was the last place you went? to the bathroom??. what ???? Like drove to..walked to...what? I went to the vet to pick up my Dog's thyroid pills. and I stopped by the pop stop for a coke.

15. What if that person knocking at your door earlier was an adult selling candy bars... would you buy one? I wouldn't even answer the door....unless my man was home wth me! And then I still would not buy probably...I don't need the calories!

Keeping Up With Blogs Can Wear You Out

Gee, I am beginning to realize that blogging is hard work.
I am sure my other half wishes I'd put in 1/4 this effort in bringing some income into this house!

The more people you meet, the more blogs you read, the more commenting, the more reading, the more commenting. etc etc...sort of a vicious circle. But, I wouldn't really call it vicious :-) Well, some can be, I guess. But, not most.

Everyone I run into on here has some interesting reading on their blogs. I feel like I don't have enough time left on earth to do the reading I want to do.
There are so many types of blogs. There are just crazy fun blogs with a little sarcasm thrown in like http://mejisnotes.blogspot.com/ Or http://livingdeadnursepsychoward.blogspot.com Or http://throughthicknthin.blogspot.com/ . There are very intellectual blogs( which I don't have a blog address for that, because that's probably not the kind of blog I'll spend much time on.: ) There are blogs like http://fallingofftheshelf.blogspot.com or http://fantasticbookreview.blogspot.com with actual reviews to tons of books. And last but not least, there is the crazy witty blogs with a bit of off colored language and lots of humor like http://wtit.blogspot.com . What ever tickles your fancy, believe me, there are enough blogs to keep you entertained for the rest of your blog days on earth!
After checking out the above links take a look over to the right bottom for my blog list. That should keep ya busy for quite awhile!!!!!

- HoT Week #96 -
The theme/prompt for THIS week, June 23, is:
TAILS - "Summertime memory"

Since this is TAILS your summertime memory needs to be a real memory of yours. It can be a childhood memory, a memory from teens years or later. It can even be from last week.

When I first saw the theme for today, I thought...wow, this will be hard.
I remember very little about my childhood.
Oh I remember a rare fishing trip with my dad. I remember a car accident on the way to an outdoor drive inn movie with my mom.
But, when I really tried to think of a fun summer memory from my past, I sadly realized that I could barely remember a summertime memory at all, in my childhood.
So, then I thought about my teenage years. And although I can remember a lot of foolish behavior from that time, I still couldn't come up with a fond summertime memory.
When I was in late 20s..early 30s I was married to a man who was very much of an outdoors man. We had a boat and camper and would take 2 or 3 days a month and spend a long weekend at a local lake. My mind just went crazy with overflow when I began to think about the things we did on those trips. We always had other couples come and camp beside us.
We popped popcorn and made s'mores in the evening, while we sat around in our lawn chairs, telling stories or just hashing over the days events. We generally had beer and margaritas flowing freely.

Occasionally, we would see a midnight streaker flying by on skis behind a boat. we tried to have flashlights close by to really see the streaker, but we really never got a good look.
We water skied all day long, leaving us sore and tired. We slept good at night and got up early in the mornings. We'd fix an outdoor breakfast of bacon, eggs and pancakes. As soon as breakfast was over, the guys and the kids started the boating, while us gals cleaned up and washed the breakfast dishes.
When the camping was done and we went home there was always a lot of laundry and cleaning up to do. We spent several hours cleaning the sand out of the camper and washing out the boat.
We were always sun burnt as can be and exhausted when we got home. But, we always looked forward to our next trip to the lake.
Now when I remember how much work we had to go through to get ready for the trip and all the work and clean up there was when we got home from the trip, I wonder why we looked forward to our next trip so much.
So, I would never have guessed this would be a summer memory choice for me, because I have lots of sad memories of being married to that man. But, the summer fun at the lake we had as a family is a good summer memory for me!

If you were coming INTO the store would it make any difference in your decision? This is something we go around about here... I believe you need to turn it in to the store...but other half says...well it probably isn't theirs either... so I think if I was going IN to the store I'd probably hand it to the clerk. And besides..I am the type to get paranoid and think it's a trick...

4. you just won the lottery....your family will be all over it as soon as they find out. Do you try to keep from telling them about it? NO I'd just move as far away as I could.

5. Did you ever play ' I'll show you mine, if you show me yours', when you were a child?
Not sure...but, when I was 7, I did play pee in the coffee can with a neighbor boy. Right in his driveway for the whole world to see. My dad whooped my butt with a hairbrush! whew..I almost never peed again. :-)

6. Do you remember a huge crush you had on someone while in high school?
Did the crush turn into more?
well I had lots of crushes and was dating my ex husband...but there was a guy who was a senior and I was a sophomore. His locker was next to mine and I would see him every day when leaving for the day. I thought he was so hot! his name was Dwight. He'd barely smile at me now and then :( Now that I think of it..I bet he was gay...:-)

7. Have you ever had a full body massage?
Were you comfortable or uneasy about being touched all over?
Just last month on a cruise I has a fully body ht stone massage...Man oh man.. I have always been very bothered by people messing with me under my clothes...at first I was uncomfortable and then...it started feeling so good... If it hadn't have been so expensive I would have gone back again the next day!

Never.. I may as well have a q-tip stickin out the sides of my head full time. I can't stand dirty ears!

Big Foot...because ya have to be in water to discover the other one and I have a fear of drowning. Besides that..I think loch ness is someones arm.

I was there last year! ...I am fine until about midnight to 1 AM...and then I want to sleep. I got up went to my deck and yelled over to them that I was trying to sleep and could they keep it down. They did too!

Today I have no meme to do..yea.... I think I have gotten in a bit too deep into blogging and memes.

I love to sit at the computer but, my house suffers.
Which reminds me of another thing...when I am sitting here I am not exercising. I have gained a few pounds this season and I need to do something about it!!! It seems I want to munch while sitting at the computer. I need more exercise and less calories.

I also do facebook! I like it alot! I twitter too,but have no idea why. I really don't get twitter.
Another thing I have attempted is Digg. Another very strange application that seems like more work than it's worth! Then there is triond

I just picked up an add on to firefox called Zemanta. So, I downloaded it. It sits beside what you are writing with .Blogspot, Facebook etc) and offers articles, links and graphics. Hence, all the logos, links and tags that you see here. You can even reblog my blog by clicking on the little reblog word at the bottom right of my post.
Is this all getting a little too much or what. Wow, we used to think kids were neglected when there was just TV that babysat them... now with all the other influences, kids can be babysat all day long, unless the parents balance their kids time carefully. If kids are on a computer and not interacting normally with other people...wouldn't you think they might just end up anti-social. Oh..I think I might have that!
I have found myself staying in a lot more than going out these days. (When I do exercise I just get out another electronic gizmo called WII )

1: You are driving down the street and you see the person you are dating/married to/living with walking down the street with a member of the opposite sex and it is someone you don't know...What do you think? What do you do?

I have trust issues...more than likely I'd drive up on the sidewalk and run over his ass.

2: The person you are dating/living with is spending a lot of time at the office these days after normal hours. Do you show up at work or call to see if he/she is there?

If it happened for long enough ,I would probably check it out! OK I'd call AND show up!

3: How would you handle it if they are not at the office where they said they would be?

I'd put on my Detective hat, grab a spy glass and off I would go to find him.

4: Someone keeps calling and hanging up when you answer the phone while you are at home with your mate or at a dates house. Do you get suspicious?

Most likely yes...and I'd unplug the phone. and hide it!..maybe smack him with it!

5: You have been hinting around for a little fun in the bedroom but the person you are dating or living with is obviously ignoring the hints. It's been a LONG time. How do you handle that?

I might look back..and then look away! I have been on the opposite end of the deal and it can make ya feel rather ugly...so I would look away and stay that way.. uh I think.

help with windows errors when visiting blogs

Is anyone having the following problems with getting into blogs??? I have it daily...both with google chrome and windows internet explorer.

I have thought it may be my internet provider....BUT I have had RR for years.

The only other thing that I have wondered about is if it might be a software that I clean my registery with and clean cache and junk files with. They are both paratologic products... called REGCURE and PARETO PC. I started using them a few months ago.

any ideas?? here's a print screen of the errors. Hopefully you can read them well anough to get the idea...any ideas anyone?

1. What is your least favorite candy bar?

You Can actually have a candy bar that you don't like? Well least favorite....hmmmm ----IDAHO SPUD BAR Potato shaped mounds of chocolate smothered with nut slices or coconut depending on what you read about them. Kind of look like maggots to me..

Actually I have never tried it...but just vision it....ewwww

2. If I were to call you, what would you say? wow how'd you find me?

3. What is your favorite type of leaf? Maple leaves in the fall

4. When was the last time you....

had sex- are you really asking this question?Well I guess I am answering it then, the answer would be Last Thursday night. Twice -(Oh I get it...you didn't ask that......strike that!) Blame it on the 3 Cuba Libras. OK TMI.. ( I may be kiddding about this..it's up to your imagination)

- swam in a lake? a few years.(you don't want to swim in the lakes around here!)..but I have been in the ocean a few times this year.

- went barefoot outside? 10 minutes ago...I am always barefoot.

- ate peas? probably a week ago...I try to avoid them.

5. Since Father's Day is right around the corner, tell us about the person that you are celebrating..

I have no one that is alive to celebrate! :-( I don't like holidays though...

6. Were you dropped on your head as a child? NO But I dropped my daughter...well actually she flipped herself out of her crib on to her head. It was very traumatic for me. Thank you for reminding me!

7. How often do you clean your toilet? Once a week...I suppose you think I should clean it more often?

8. Have you ever been sunburned? Tell us about it. Well many times..the worst...many, many years ago. I had a bathing suit that came clear up on the cheeks and I got burned so bad I couldn't wear any underwear for a couple of weeks....I had to have my boyfriend rub cream on it a LOT! I mean a LOT! Wow I'm having a hot flash! whew

9. On average, how many hours a sleep do you get a night? maybe 6 on the average.

10 How many hours did you get last night? depends on what you consider sleeping.. I went to bed late and woke up early (5:30) but went back to bed and dozed till 10 AM. (awake and asleep...awake and asleep) Dozing doesn't count as sleeping does it? so I got 6 to 8 hrs....

11. Take a picture of something. Post it. Don't knock it....the dog liked it! So did we

12. Are the bottom of your feet dirty? sort of

13. Do you know the names of every member of the family I only know the faces of most of my neighbors and almost no names..and I like it that way!

TUESDAY HEADS: Tune Meme

I have been watching the Heads and Tails blog trying to figure out how this thing works.

I am kind of new to the blogging thing, anyway. But real new to memes.

OK, so, a word is given and a post is made around that word...Do I have that right? It can be photos or words or whatever?
OK this weeks word is "tune".Make any kind of post using the theme/prompt "Tune."

Well I thought and thought...this is certainly hard. I am really not tuned in enough, I guess, to get it.. I am not even tuned in enough to know what a MEME is.
I tried to think about the word TUNE and I really didn't feel that it ("tune") is very relevant in my life. But, then I realized that even though I am apparently tuned out, I have to sometimes be tuned in, tuned out, out of tune, and/or in tune, every day of my life. Every day I listen to a tune on the radio or on my PC. Occasionally, I hum a little tune while I piddle around the house. Didn't the dwarfs whistle a happy tune? Didn't Yoko sing completely off tune? And isn't Donald Trump completely out of tune with the world of hair design? Or maybe that would be " touch " instead of tune, which is a whole other topic!

Everyday, someone is tuned in to Oprah. On any day I will tune out Larry King.

If you play an instrument you have to have it tuned sometimes. If I play an instrument, I guarantee I'll be out of tune whether its been tuned or not.

Well, now this may not be what you had in mind for the heads post. So stay tuned, maybe next week I'll get with the program and figure out what to do with the Heads or Tails word for the day. So see you then.
In the meantime, I'll be taking my car in for a tune up.

You are welcome to critique my use of the heads and tails anytime. I never quit learning...sometimes I am just a bit slower than I used to be, though! :)

Well I have JUST this week gotten turned on to MEMEs. I came by this one and it looked fun so here I am. I already promised myself to others also. I hope this doesn't become an addiction..I hate when that happens.
Speaking of Hate....todays sunday stealing meme is Hate. I really don't "hate" many things...usually its a hate something about them if we are talking People.

SATURDAY'S 9: It's my party meme

I actually did this on Sunday but put Saturdays date on it. Hope that's ok...but you said you have no rules :)

1. Do you prefer to host or be a guest at a party?
A Guest...don't have to clean up and worry about someone smearing something on my walls!

2. Would you rather go to a large party or a small dinner party?
Larger...one where I can mingle.

3. What is you worst flaw?
My habit of pointing out someone elses. (Flaws)

4. What is you best character trait?
being a pretty honest person.

5. What habit in others annoys you?
smug know it all types. They just have a look on their faces that says...look at me..I am so cool and I am better than you.and I know they're not!! I want to slap em!

6. What qualities in others do you admire?
people who are cool, calm and collected. Don't have to be loud to get attention or to get the job done.

7. If you could change something about yourself, what would it be?
my insecurities about aging.

somewhat, but it depends on the situation

It does usually depend on the situation, but often it would be Follow..I don't have the energy to lead. In work I can lead. There is a big difference between a leader and someone who is loud and over bearing and thinks their way is the only way.

5 pounds here or there

So, everyone who thinks they have a weight problem, raise their hand.
I have always fought my weight...I can't remember a time that I didn't have to watch my calories closely.
I have definitely been on every diet possible. But, I go a little crazy for a week or 2 and I am 5 or 6 pounds up. It doesn't sound like much but, on me it adds fat around my middle and everything is tight. And I am miserable.
So, today I am miserable. Very Miserable.
I made use of the WII sport today, trying to keep myself from hurting my back again. The little WII character told me that I am 4 pounds heavier than the last time I weighed in. Like I needed a reminder.
OK, so now I have to get serious about what I eat. There has to be another diet out there that I haven't tried yet. Bring it on.

Is Shite a cuss word?

Well, if it isn't then SHITE SHITE SHITE. And even if it is....same thing.

I have had a lot of trouble this last year with aches and pains. I started with arthritic pain in my 40s, actually. But, recently I have realized that if I do anything that is even slightly over exertion, I pay for it!
We got a WII for Christmas and I enjoy it a lot! I got the WII sports add on and began an exercise program.
Are you supposed to feel sick and miserable when you are doing something so good for you?
Well, ya wouldn't think so, would ya?
I slowed the exercise down and soon it had come to a dead halt. I began noticing the pounds coming back on and kept telling myself I need to get back with some kind of exercise..
My daughter bought me a new addition to the WII for my Birthday and I have had it just a week. I really like it a lot, but my gawd, I really don't know why I have to hurt so bad after doing something so fun. It's called ACTIVE Personal Trainer. Featuring Bob Greene, Oprah's trainer.
OK, so after using it, a few days ago, I could hardly get out of bed the next morning. I laid on the heating pad for awhile and then sort of hobbled around all day. I found myself saying SHITE and a few more choice words. I didn't even over do the exercise! Well, maybe I did.
Day before yesterday I felt better, so I got back on the WII, working only my arms. Awwwww, I didn't hurt so bad yesterday, so I am going to work on the upper body again today.

I always thought it'd be different for me, but a word to the wise. Aging affects everyone and is a pain in the ass. And in the back, shoulders, knees.... You get the idea!

Conversations with P

I have a wonderful man friend. I'll call him "P".He is that...JUST that. He is a man and my friend. As a matter of fact, from what I have gathered, he is a friend to a lot of women. Particularly OLDER women.
I have enjoyed talking to him through out the years and keep in touch with him mostly in Face book these days.Recently, my other half, M, and I took the trip that is posted in all those pictures below."P" always wants to see the pictures when we return from a trip. Even after posting some on face book, he was at me to post more. So, I did.
But, then he and I will talk in face book chat and he will comment on my pictures while we are chatting. I have to laugh (usually) when we chat, but there are times I wonder if he is still single because of his more then honest comments he makes.
While looking at my pictures and chatting with me, P said "you are so white." I said "yes, I am a German white woman" He said "but even white people tan". OK I let that go...so then he says "You have such scrawny hands." I said, "yes I know I am very thin skinned and have no fat on my arms or hands."Then he said you are not fat, I don't see any roll around your middle. (I complain about it all the time) I said "No, that's because I have my miracle suit on"....now he laughs and says "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO whattttttttttttttttttt???????????????????????LOL" I say, " well it's a swim suit that holds ya all in. (thank god for Miracle suits) I have a dress on just to cover my swim suit in this picture." OH my, did he ever get a laugh out of that!
Then he said, you are stunning. Where that fit in with the negative commentary, I am not sure.
I felt like I must have mis-understood what he said.
Next conversation, he has to find a way to bring up the miracle suit! I figured. If he wouldn't have, I would have! We laugh and laugh when we talk.I have a good sense of humor and broad shoulders most of the time. I need both to deal with my conversations with P!

A Bit Of Heaven for 10 Days

There is nothing prettier than the Caribbean...at least I don't think so. I have not been blogging for quite awhile because I was busy getting ready to take a 10 day vacation. Then we went on vacation and only returned day before yesterday.We flew to San Juan on Saturday, May 9th and stayed the night in Old San Juan.On Sunday the 10th we boarded a ship and had 1 day at sea on Monday. Then went to Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, St Martaan, St Croix and back to San Juan where we spent the night again and flew home on Monday, May 18th.It was a wonderful trip. There was a little rain in every port...which is pretty much the usual occurrence for us when we travel. But, it always cleared up nicely and we were able to Snorkel 3 days and go dolphin watching on another day. The wind and the sprinkles helped us stay cool. Otherwise, we would have never made it. It was so hot and so humid, but beautiful.

Days 1, and part of day 2 were spent in San Juan. I love the Caribbean architecture. I have taken pictures every time we have stopped in San Juan and I am sure if I would dig out the others, I would find that I have taken the same ones over and over!
Shopping in PR...I wanted a gucci purse so bad.....But I didn't find one that I really Liked!
we ate at Hard rock cafe and then shopped some more...I was exhausted and my feet hurt!
I'd had enough!

May 10th --Day 2 we boarded the Adventure of the Seas. A picture taken from our ship of another cruise ship in the San Juan port.

May 11 Day 3 was at sea-- not much to see. It's a good opportunity to get familiar with the ship.

There's always a party going on.

May 12th--Day4 we visited Barbados May 13th--Day 5 St Lucia

It certainly is not one of the prettiest islands. It seemed to be one of the poorer islands.

this little con artist sold us a wood carved fish...my other half felt sorry for him.He told us he and his father made all the things there. We saw the almost exact same fish on the next Island. WE went on a dolphin watch and did see some dolphins after about an hour!I don't know who the lady is in this pic.

May 14th--Day 6 Antigua

May 15--Day 7 St Martaan Who wouldn't want to cool off in the Blue Bitch Bar

the Tiki Hut...a floating platform with a hut offering food and drink. Also, chairs to lay in and floating chairs, as well snorkle equipment were all available. We could stay 2 hours or all day if we wanted and they took us back to the ship when we were ready.

May 16--Day 8 St Croix

A wonderful Steele band orchestra of youngsters. They were truly excellent!! So much fun to listen to!

May 17th --Day 9 after leaving the ship we spent the day shopping in Puerto Rico again and toured the Bacardi Rum Distillery. Not Too exciting really.

Bacardi provided us with a bartender as part as our tour. He showed us the proper way to make Mojitos, cuba Libras and what rum to use with them. Including a sipping rum that you can't even buy in the US. And he wasn't bad to look at :-)

We spent the night in Puerto Rico and flew out on May 18th--Day 10- to go home. We have such great memories of this trip!
